![]() ![]() This change came as a result of a settlement back in July 2012 between a group of United States Retailers and Visa, MasterCard and nine big banks. As of this past Sunday, January 27th retailers are now allowed to impose a surcharge, also known as a “swipe charge” or “checkout fee”, to any customers using a credit card to pay for their goods.
